Highly recommend renting one to test out first then you can work out what works and doesn’t for you. We rented from Bristol airport and went South Wales way (with our 2 and 4 year old). Road Surfer is the company really easy to use.
I really like the idea that’s it’s always familiar to the kids and not a new environment so less settling in for them. We’re not committed to a purchase yet as it feels huge but maybe we will
That's brilliant advice, thanks so much! Renting first is definitely the way to go. It makes total sense to see how it works for the whole family, especially with little ones. South Wales sounds like a fantastic trip!
Road Surfer, got it! I'll definitely check them out. And you're right, the familiarity for the kids is a huge plus. Less settling in is always a win!
I totally get the 'it feels huge' part, haha! It's a big decision. Glad you're taking the test drive approach.
Thanks again for the recommendation, really appreciate it!
We're in Sal at the moment Jamie. Check out shark bay and the salt mines if you can.
We're not in a big hotel but I hear they're huge. Our kids are older now so it's just the 2 of us. I remember how much hard work it can be, but also great at the same time.
No way Fred, can’t believe you’re here in Sal?! Yes, the kid journey is shattering, but we’re lovin’ the pain of it all 🤣❤️. I’ll chat to Anna on your suggestions, she’s definitely the planner! 🤪 Have fun, thank you for the message 😃
hi guys loving hearing your stories especially about the camper van, go for it you will not regret it and save a fortune on food etc with being able to do it yourself and it will be another adventure to add to your list.
We have a 5th wheel and love it, Jamie didn't get to see it when he stayed with us but we have certainly had our own adventures with it.
Love the stories of the kids being kids and chasing chickens and just having fun, enjoy the mocktails or beers when you can but certainly sounds like you have had a great time, enjoy your last week.
A camper van is a brilliant idea Jamie. So many young families travel around & even live in them. The country & Europe would be your oyster. Oh Rocky he is a sweetheart. ♥️

I’m honestly stunned why you don’t have a camper van already, I’m also stunned that in all the years I’ve known you I haven’t said this too! 😆
Yes to a van 🚐 ⛺️ 🙌🏼
This made me laugh Kate. See you soon ❤️
You know what’s best for your family, so have a fun time wherever, and rent a camper van before buying one to try it out. Love your posts.
Lovely to hear Mary, and so glad it finally played ❤️

Thank you Christine! You’re right, I don’t see your camper, but certainly remember you talking fondly of it. Will keep you posted ❤️
We got a VW campervan. Kids loved it, albeit older kids, we loved it. Do it! Get one!
That’s so wicked to hear Rachel, VW’s are very cool 😎 - will keep you posted.
Camper van sounds a fabulous idea!!!
AND the kids would LOVE it too!!!
Try & enjoy the rest of the week x
Thank youuu Maria, much appreciated 👍
A capper van, small travel trailer or tent trailer aka pop-up trailer would work fantastic for your adventures with your kids.
It sure did for us when we had kids at home: traveled and camped a lot with them. Now with grandkids.
Also, the camper van or small RV was a saviour for my FalloRick Run. 🚐🚐🚐
You’re the campervan king you are Rick! So if you say it’s worth getting, it must be. Thank you 🙏

Cheers Texas Sandy, that’s a great idea to rent one first! ❤️
It won’t load; just boots me back out of Substack
